La Guadeloupe profite d’un climat tropical aux influences maritimes. On distingue 2 saisons :
– Une saison sèche, appelée aussi « Carême », de décembre à mai. C’est là qu’il fait le – chaud (mais quasiment jamais en dessous de 20 la nuit…), il ne pleut quasiment pas.
– Une saison humide, nommée « hivernage », de juin à novembre. Saison chaude et humide (températures les + élevées avec des averses soudaines, brèves et violentes)

Si la saison sèche est réputée comme la meilleure période pour aller en Guadeloupe, y aller en saison humide est aussi un bon plan : la chaleur est tempérée par les alizées, les pluies ne durent jamais longtemps, la végétation est luxuriante… Les mois de transition que sont mai et novembre sont aussi deux périodes privilégiées pour profiter de l’archipel.
Quant aux ouragans, ils sévissent officiellement de juillet à novembre mais ils ne sont ni systématiques ni imprévisibles ! Les resorts qui accueillent les touristes sont, en principe, bien protégés en la matière !
